Sunnyvale, Calif. -- Dayton Hudson Corp, a merchandise retailer, has presented Amdahl Corp with its Best Business Partner Award. Amdahl was one of six companies to be presented the award. Using Amdahl Millennium Global Servers, Dayton Hudson migrated to complimentary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) based technology with minimal disruption to data center operations. Amdahl was also recognized for its management and delivery of an intricate ESCON fiber optic infrastructure. Dayton Hudson is now positioned with CMOS Parallel Sysplex capable servers from Amdahl, designed to reduce long-term environmental and maintenance costs. Amdahl received the award in the Superior Leadership category, presented annually to vendors who exhibit a strong understanding of Dayton Hudson's business, manage time effectively, and exhibit a professional and positive attitude. Dayton Hudson, a long-time customer of Amdahl, owns and operates Target, Mervyn's California, Dayton's, Marshall Field's and Hudson's retail stores.
