Airline parts maker Woodward has replaced the time-consuming model of designing physical prototypes for parts with the possibilities offered by the cloud. The company now rents an IBM supercomputer and cloud services from Nimbis to handle design processes that were not only resource heavy in terms of time spent, but were wasteful in terms of prototype materials. The company found that the final result lead to time and resource savings, but of equal importance, that it produced a more accurate end result.
