Berkeley Lab's John Shalf and LSU's Thomas Sterling give a rundown on some of the events that took place the first day of the conference.

John Shalf talks about Intel’s new Many Integrated Core (MIC) processor for HPC that was unveiled during Monday’s opening keynote at ISC. He also has a few words to say about the latest TOP500 list, also announced on Monday. Thomas Sterling adds his comments about a very well-attended panel session he chaired, titled Parallel Computing in the Years to Come.
