ATIP Workshop at SC14: “Japanese Research Towards Next-Generation Extreme Computing”
November 17, 2014
ATIP’s Workshop at the upcoming SC14 conference can help attendees get the big picture view of HPC and extreme computing in Japan. The following topics will be covered: 1. Overview of Japanese HPC, Today and Tomorrow, Towards Exascale; 2. Exascale Feasibility Reports – Architectures and Applications; 3. Petascale Applications on K computer and Other Machines; and 4. System Software Research for Post-Petascale Research Projects. In addition to short presentations, posters by Japanese researchers will highlight specific research efforts. Similarly, posters from selected US graduate students will describe their research with the goal of finding synergies and areas of mutual interest.
This is a great opportunity to chat informally with leading members of the Japanese HPC research community as well as young “up-and-comers,” then follow up at the SC14 exhibit booths for more detailed discussions. For more information on the program, please see ATIP’s website at http://atip.org.
