Grow the digital economy at ITU Telecom World 2016
ITU Telecom World 2016 is the UN global platform to accelerate ICT innovations for social and economic development through exhibiting solutions, sharing knowledge and making meaningful connections.
Organised by ITU, the United Nations specialized agency for ICTs, the event brings together a unique audience of public and private sector leaders from emerging and developed markets to help businesses and ideas go further and faster, to make the world better, sooner.
Participants include heads of state and government, ministers, regulators, industry experts, heads of UN organizations, investors, small and medium enterprises (SMEs), digital thinkers and consultants. This year, the event is focused on the digital economy and the increasingly important role of SMEs within it, in particular in emerging markets.
The exhibition enables countries, organizations and companies to showcase innovative services, solutions and investment and partnership opportunities. It is unique in bringing high-growth SMEs from emerging markets to its international stage. Sponsorships provide a platform for strategic messaging and high-level visibility.
The event’s world-class Forum and Leaders Programme offer high-level interactive debates addressing the issues defining the ICT industry today on the theme of “Collaborating in the Digital Economy”. Expert speakers will explore new partnerships and new opportunities in the digital economy, including establishing meaningful and affordable universal access, working together on new technologies such as 5G and IoT, and how the ICT sector can make a business case for meeting the SDGs.
The ITU Telecom World Awards recognize excellence and innovation in ICT solutions with social impact from SMEs and corporates alike. Structured networking events, spaces and social occasions connect the private sector and government, individuals and ideas like no other ICT event.
