Exanet, a supplier of high performance, clustered NAS software, has announced the release of ExaStore - ICM (Intelligent Cluster Management), software that provides storage and delivery to a range of enterprise applications.
Exanet provides on-the-fly bandwidth and capacity scalability in a clustered NAS environment. Its performance-optimized architecture, together with its use of standard, off-the-shelf hardware, provides NAS solutions for a variety of applications or budgets.

According to Exanet, with the ExaStore – ICM, they have achieved a series of industry firsts, including the first Continuous Data Protection (CDP) solution to fully integrate with a clustered NAS platform. ExaStore CDP offers advanced Point-in-Time functionality, which enables users to capture an infinite set of snapshots, enabling a return to any given recovery point.
ExaStore - ICM is designed to provide automated storage management that simplifies system operation and maintenance and drive down the TCO of enterprise NAS. The system's new virtual volume capability allows dynamic expansion or reallocation of storage capacity according to changing business needs, and provides an additional level of control and flexibility for capacity management and provisioning. Additionally, ExaStore's single file system and single storage pool is geared for maximum utilization of disk space.
Harnessing commodity hardware into a storage solution, ExaStore - ICM offers interoperability, providing support for NFS, CIFS and AFP protocols, to enable file sharing between Apple, UNIX, Linux, and Microsoft clients.
According to Brad O'Neill, Senior Analyst & Consultant at Taneja Group, "It is abundantly clear that Exanet is in the clustered storage game.
