Hundreds Converge at Power Architecture Conferences


PISCATAWAY, N.J., Dec. 16 -- Power.org, the organization that promotes and develops standards for Power Architecture technology, today announced that its Asian Power Architecture Conferences drew record attendance to hear the latest developments on Power Architecture expertise and technology and participate in hands on training for next-generation product design. The events, held in Hsinchu, Taiwan, Tokyo, Japan, and Beijing, China, featured experts from Cadence, D2, Freescale, Global Graphics, IBM, Lautherbach, Silicontek, Synopsys, and Virtutech, and drew design teams and managers from the aerospace, consumer, industrial, networking, storage, and wired/wireless communications sectors.

Fifteen Power Architecture design specialists provided in-depth information and design insights on the Power Architecture roadmap, technical initiatives like multicore and virtualization, and layered solutions including SoC, license core, simulation, and verification to the more than 400 engineers, software developers, executives, and researchers, 40-50 percent of whom are actively working on Power Architecture designs. Solution success stories, promotional strategy and an interactive panel discussion, focused on solving challenges with multicore development, were among the new features added to the program following the EUR-PAC conference held in May.

Ten state-of-the-art solution and product demonstrations by members of Power.org addressed complemented case studies showcasing the successful use of Power Architecture products in commercial systems and provided attendees with practical tips that could be leveraged in their own designs.

In addition to invaluable technical information, the Power Architecture conferences presented unique opportunities for attendees to network and strengthen relationships with other business leaders and technical experts from within the Power Architecture community. Throughout the event, attendees commented on how the rich content presented at the events deepened their understanding of Power Architecture technology and its value to their next design process.

Based on the success of the 2008 training programs, Power.org is working on a schedule of events for 2009 that may address new trends and applications of new technology, Power management solutions, multicore software and hardware design and debugging, virtualization, successful ISA migration from x86, Arm or MIPS, success of Power Architecture applications in the auto industry, and other topics.
