Zero-In Magazine Accepting Articles for Issue 3

June 15 -- Zero-In magazine is now accepting article submissions for its third issue. Zero-In showcases the research and development activities in the world of e-Infrastructures and is a forum for news, comment and analysis on this exciting new research paradigm.

The audiences of the publication include national and international policy makers as well as key projects and individuals using or developing e-Infrastructures across the world. Zero-In was launched in January2009. Each issue of Zero-In has a "thematic" section, a feature on "insights from the global virtual research community," and a "diary" section for news. For further information on the previous editions, visit http://www.beliefproject.org/media-corner/e-magazine.

The "thematic" section of this third edition will focus on Successful Case Studies of eScience/eResearch Projects in Europe and globally.

For this third issue the BELIEF Editorial Team looks forward to receiving your articles on the following topics, split into these three sections:

Thematic:

  • Articles from Europe and from overseas countries focusing on Successful Case Studies of eScience/eResearch Projects in Europe and globally.

Insights:

  • 1 article focusing on Engaging Emerging Economies: outreach strategies for greater adoption.
  • 1 article focusing on e-Infrastructures for Sustainability strategies and policies.
  • 1 article focusing on e-Infrastructures for Culture, Arts and Humanities Applications.
  • 1 article focusing on e-Infrastructures for Development.
  • 1 article focusing on Security and Certification in e-Infrastructure applications.
  • 1 article focusing on Standards.

Diary:

  • e-Infrastructure News and Events are welcome for the diary section. Feel free to send them to info@beliefproject.org to be included in the next publication.

Prospective authors are invited to submit an expression of interest by sending a short abstract (approximately 100 words) reporting recent developments and opinions, analysis and visions in the field of e-Infrastructures for the section you choose. When submitting your abstract, please make clear which section you would like it to feature in.

The Review Panel will coordinate the selection of the abstracts and, once accepted, authors will be notified and invited to send the full papers. These will be evaluated by the Review Panel which may request any eventual adjustments by the authors.

Submission Requirements:

  • Abstracts should be 100 words in length and submitted to http://www.beliefproject.org/forms/abstract-submission.
  • Once your abstract is accepted, corresponding final papers should be no more than 700 words in length and submitted to info@beliefproject.org.
  • Final articles should include further details for readers to go into more depth on the topic, such as published papers, Web addresses, phone and email details of project interfaces.
  • Final submitted papers should be written in English. They should include 5-10 keywords.
  • Contributions should not have been previously published.
  • Note that our readers prefer accessible analysis, opinions and outlines of projects' value, rather than technical project descriptions.

Important Dates:

Abstract submission deadline: June 30, 2009
Abstract acceptance notification deadline: July 15, 2009
Full papers submission deadline: August 30, 2009

Authors should submit their abstract at http://www.beliefproject.org/forms/abstract-submission.
