Nov. 20 — ATTO Technology, Inc., a global leader of storage, network connectivity and infrastructure solutions for data-intensive computing environments for 25 years, today announced that it is showing its family of high-performance products at SC13, November 18-21 at the Colorado Convention Center. Located in Booth 332, ATTO will be showcasing their complete Gen 5 powered 16Gb Fibre Channel portfolio and Thunderbolt enabled Desklink devices, as well as a live demo of the new ExpressSAS 12Gb SAS/SATA Host Bus Adapter (HBA).
“For 25 years, ATTO has been an industry leader, providing unique products that meet the most demanding needs found in today’s Big Data environments,” said Wayne Arvidson, Vice President of Marketing at ATTO Technology. “SC13 is a terrific platform for ATTO to highlight our technology differentiators designed to provide faster time to data, analytics and critical business decisions. These solutions enhance application performance commonly used in video, scientific, medical, engineering, HPC and other high-performance environments.”
ATTO will highlight the addition of 12Gb to their ExpressSAS host adapter and RAID controller line with a live in-booth demo. The new ExpressSAS cards offer 8 or 16 port configurations, allowing up to 1,200 MB/s per port, enabling scalability for next generation platforms and infrastructures. Providing storage connectivity with the highest data transfer rates for Big Data, financial, and other latency-sensitive applications, these HBAs include built-in RAID (0, 1 and 1e) and Advanced Data Streaming (ADS) for smooth data transfers, providing consistent performance and uninterrupted workflows. ATTO’s ExpressSAS RAID controllers include Adaptive Path Optimization, which provides automated high-performance data protection coupled with dynamic path management and balancing. Developed to support cutting-edge solid state (SSD) storage, as well as traditional hard disk drives (HDD), these HBAs and RAID controllers accelerate data in transactional and streaming applications.
ATTO’s complete portfolio of Fibre Channel infrastructure products include the Fibre Connect switch, available in 16Gb and 8Gb versions, as well as the unique FibreBridge, which allows SAS/SATA storage to be added to a Fibre Channel infrastructure. Rounding out ATTO’s complete end to end Fibre Channel products line, they will be highlighting the following products:
• ATTO Gen 5 powered Celerity 16Gb Fibre Channel Host Bus Adapters (HBAs), including the industry’s first quad channel card, deliver the highest bandwidth and lowest latency available in the market, as well as reliable and scalable connectivity with twice the maximum throughput of previous solutions. ATTO’s ADS technology manages latency in real-time environments for the smoothest data streaming and best-in-industry data transfers, while MultiPath Director allows not just servers, but also Windows, Linux and Mac workstations to directly connect to enterprise class storage, reducing the latency commonly found in client-server architectures.
• The ATTO FastStream SC 9000 holds the distinction as the first available and shipping 16Gb storage controller on the market. It is the only Fibre Channel RAID controller that allows IT managers to easily create their own fully-scalable 16Gb SAN storage solution. System builders have the ability to embed the FastStream into a storage server to create a license-free and surprisingly affordable high capacity storage array. With numerous scalable options, FastStream supports up to 512TB of RAID protected shared storage using HDD or SSD drive technology. FastStream storage controllers are engineered for demanding real-time applications which require managed latency for high-volume collaborative workflows, and include ATTO’s exclusive ADS and DriveAssure technologies to ensure maximum performance.
ATTO Desklink devices represent the latest in high-performance storage and network connectivity for Thunderbolt enabled platforms, including mobile devices such as laptops and Ultrabooks, so users can connect to storage in the office or in the field. At speeds not available with FireWire or USB, ATTO’s ThunderLink and ThunderStream deliver the highest consistent performance and reliable data transfers in data streaming applications. The ThunderStream storage controller adds ATTO’s industry-renowned RAID protection for SAS/SATA disk arrays, including DriveAssure, which repairs drives to prevent premature failures and slowdowns maximizing system uptime, and ensures 100% throughput during data rebuilds. ThunderStream is available as an external solution and internal form factor for companies interested in building a custom storage solution.
ATTO offers the broadest range of storage & network connectivity solutions for the Enterprise environment from data center to highly specialized workgroup applications. “We look forward to demonstrating how ATTO enables users to effectively maximize their data throughput with our unique, high-performance appliances in a big data environment,” added Arvidson.
