Eucalyptus Joins Dell Technology Partner Program

SANTA BARBARA, Calif., Dec. 12 – Eucalyptus Systems, the leading provider of open source software for building AWS-compatible private and hybrid clouds, today announced that its cloud software is now available with Dell server, storage, and networking equipment as part of the Dell Technology Partner Program. By providing Eucalyptus cloud software on Dell infrastructure, innovative web, cloud and technology companies can reduce cloud spend, and increase agility and control. A live demo will be available at Dell World in Dell’s Technology Partner Program booth.

Eucalyptus is open source private and hybrid cloud software used by organizations to reduce their public cloud costs, regain control over security and performance, and increase the agility of application development and deployment. Eucalyptus empowers customers to develop and deploy software on their own servers in a private cloud environment, and dynamically scale workloads to the public cloud through deep AWS API compatibility and hybrid capabilities.

Customers can leverage Eucalyptus on Dell hardware to build innovative business solutions that lower costs and drive competitive advantage. As part of the technology partner program, Eucalyptus has developed a Dell specific private cloud reference architecture that can be used as the foundation for cloud deployments on Dell ServersDell Networking, and Dell Storage solutions. This combination provides customers with a high level of flexibility, convenience and control as they adopt private and hybrid clouds.

“We rely on Eucalyptus to support the rigorous demands of our development and test initiatives which include thousands of concurrent network connections to our test applications,” said Thomas Morse, director of IT and SaaS operations at AppDynamics. “By teaming up with Dell, Eucalyptus is making it even easier for us to quickly provision cloud instances and scale these activities. It gives us the power to more rapidly deliver on our promise of helping customers solve complex application performance challenges.”

“Eucalyptus and Dell is perfect for tech companies,” said Nikita Shamgunov, co-founder and CTO of MemSQL. “We run a Eucalyptus cloud on Dell servers and achieve the best agility and affordability. It just works. And it saves us money.”

“Working closely with Dell as a certified partner will allow us to empower innovative organizations with an even greater customer experience through new levels of agility and ease of use,” said Marten Mickos, CEO of Eucalyptus Systems. “Dell is a leader in modern and affordable IT solutions that are foundational to our customers’ cloud deployments.
