March 21 — At PRACEdays16 – the PRACE Scientific and Industrial Conference 2016, which will be held from May 10-12 in Prague, Czech Republic, under the motto HPC for Innovation: when Science meets Industry – PRACE will present for the first time the PRACE Ada Lovelace Award for HPC to a woman who is making an outstanding contribution to and impact on HPC in Europe, at a global level.
At PRACEdays14 three awards were presented: Best Poster, Best Scientific Presentation and Best Industrial Presentation (http://www.prace-ri.eu/pracedays14-concludes-3-awards/). At PRACEdays15 an Award for Best Poster was presented (http://www.prace-ri.eu/prace-days15-wrapup/). The PRACEdays16 Organisation and Programme Committee (OPC) decided for this year´s edition to have a fourth award: the PRACE Ada Lovelace Award for HPC.
PRACE is happy to receive your nomination, please send your name and a 300-word description to [email protected]. The following selection criteria have to be addressed in your text:
- The winner of this award must be a woman who is currently working in Europe or has been working in Europe during the past three years
- She must have made an outstanding impact on HPC research, computational science or service provision at a global level
- She must be working in academia or industry
- She must be a role model for women beginning careers in HPC
The deadline to submit your nomination is: March 30, 2016, 12:00 (noon) CEST. The Selection Committee will take a final decision on April 7. The winner of the Award will be invited to participate in the concluding Panel Session at PRACEdays16, and will receive a cash prize of € 1 000 as well as a certificate and an engraved crystal trophy.
