Dec. 16 — On December 15, 2015, the SoHPC awards ceremony took place at the Barcelona Supercomputing Centre (BSC), Spain where Dr. Oriol Pineda, PRACE Member of the Board of Directors, presented awards to Alberto García García from Spain and to Simos Kazantzidis from Greece.
PRACE HPC Ambassador Award
Alberto excelled in composing well-written blog posts that achieved a huge reach on a variety of social media channels, and doubled the SoHPC YouTube views. Best Visualization Award
Simos achieved an elegant visualization with an original combination of representations, creating an impressive and usable front-end with a combination of charts and 3D representations of molecules. The combination of 2D and 3D representations side by side, the interactivity and the effective use of colour produced a user interface that demonstrated routine ease of use for end users. Overall, his visualization was of a high quality and represented an excellent technical achievement.
