July 10 — Silicon Mechanics, Inc. announces that it has expanded its high-density server family with the release of two 2U 4-node products based on Supermicro TwinPro architecture, the Rackform iServ R4420 and Rackform iServ R4422. Each node supports up to two Intel Xeon processors E5-2600v2 series, SAS3 hot-swap drives, and up to 512 GB of DDR3 RAM per node, as well as optional onboard InfiniBand or 10GbE networking.
Like all Silicon Mechanics’ high-density servers, the R4420 and R4422 are designed to deliver cost-effective, energy-efficient compute power in a small footprint. “This new generation of multi-node products offers even more options than previous products,” said Sue Lewis, Chief Marketing Officer at Silicon Mechanics. “For customers who need the increased versatility, the R4420 and R4422 are a great feature-rich update to our multi-node family.”
