Luxembourg, Jan. 30 — The University of Luxembourg is harnessing the power of Allinea MAP in its quest to speed up research and to be among the world’s top universities.
Over 250 system users compete for time on the University’s powerful 4,110 core high performance computing platform. They all have a common aim – to get more results from their supercomputing time and to speed up research by running their applications faster.
Having enjoyed Allinea DDT’s ease of use for their debugging needs for over two years, adopting Allinea MAP to address their profiling requirements was a natural step.
Dr. Xavier Besseron, a research associate at the University working on advanced simulation technology for multi-physics applications, was involved in the procurement of Allinea MAP. He said, “Switching between Allinea DDT and Allinea MAP is as simple as clicking a button. You can use Allinea MAP whenever you make changes to your software and see performance issues. It gives a really simple overview of what time is spent in communication, in computation, and in input and output – exactly what you need.”
With users coming from a range of faculties, a key consideration was ease of use. Dr. Besseron said, “Researchers in areas like engineering just want to improve and run their simulations, without having to learn too much about the detail of the system – and Allinea Software’s tools are ideal for helping them.”
