July 30 — The XSEDE User Portal Project today launched two mobile apps to provide powerful features to help researchers’ better use XSEDE resources and services. The XSEDE User Portal is a powerful, virtual cyberinfrastructure used to share computing resources, data and expertise for researchers across the nation.
The new mobile apps allow users and staff to access the XSEDE User Portal at their fingertips — the free apps are now available in Google Play and the Apple App store.
“Mobile devices are an integral part of our everyday lives,” said Maytal Dahan, who leads the XSEDE User Portal Project and manages TACC’s Portal and Gateway Infrastructure Group.
“The new XSEDE User Portal Apple iOS and Android apps now offer XSEDE users the ability to manage their projects and interact with XSEDE services on the go,” Dahan said. “The apps offer valuable features such as resource monitoring, user news, ticket submission, job monitoring, training registration, and more. We look forward to user adoption of the apps and providing feedback on how we can continue to improve them.”
