Liquid Computing's Innovation Honored by IEEE

Liquid Computing Corp. has received an award of innovation for the development of its new class of scalable computing system LiquidIQ at last night's IEEE Ottawa Section annual general meeting. The IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) AGM focused on the recent developments and new challenges in science, technology and innovation.

"Leading up to the general availability of our LiquidIQ Interconnect Driven Server we are honored to receive this prestigious recognition from IEEE," said Brian Hurley, CEO and president of Liquid Computing. "Our customers and early adopters have been quick to embrace the innovative approach we have taken to solve their scalability and flexibility challenges. This award further validates that LiquidIQ is poised to bring disruptive change to the computing market."

The Liquid Computing team has remained focused on developing a new class of server that exploited new technologies and applied best practices that had been perfected within the telecom sector. The LiquidIQ Interconnect Driven Server is designed to eliminate the communication and control bottlenecks that are pervasive in datacenters and carrier offices today. Since it converges computing, networking and broadband technologies into a new system, it fundamentally alters the underlying form, function and economics of scalable system deployment.

IEEE is the largest professional organization in the world with over 370,000 members in more than 150 countries. Members include engineers, scientists, and students of related disciplines in its ranks. A non-profit organization, the IEEE's mandate is to organize technical activities, foster the career development of its members, and promote local community.

The IEEE Ottawa Section has over 2,200 members. With 19 Chapters, the Ottawa Section has nine committees, three affinity groups and three student branches. The IEEE Ottawa Section has been active and successful in organizing technical meetings, several of them using IEEE Distinguished Lecturers Program.
