Solution provides superior performance, reliability and value
Toronto, June 18 -- Platform Computing, the global leader in high performance computing (HPC) management software, announces the availability of Platform HPC Workgroup Manager, a new channel-specific solution developed for organizations with workgroup and departmental sized compute clusters. Designed with performance and ease of use in mind, Platform HPC Workgroup Manager is a powerful, turn-key solution, featuring an intuitive Web-based management interface and delivering sophisticated workload management capabilities. It includes all the cluster management tools an organization will need to meet the most demanding requirements for application performance and workload management. Platform HPC Workgroup Manager dramatically reduces the engineering effort required to develop and deliver Intel Cluster Ready certified systems, because it provides an Intel Cluster Ready compatible environment out of the box.
Platform HPC Workgroup Manager is a complete solution developed to easily deploy, run and manage the entire lifecycle of an advanced HPC cluster. It includes Platform Cluster Manager (formerly Platform OCS 5), Platform LSF Workgroup Edition and Platform MPI. Platform HPC Workgroup Manager is only available through Platform's channel partners. Platform trains and authorizes these partners to provide this solution based on their ability to offer regional or market-specific expertise.
"We already know that Platform LSF is the most relied-upon middleware package in the HPC industry, and we also know that users have a strong preference for maintaining a consistent management environment across their HPC infrastructure," said Addison Snell, vice president of Tabor Research. "With Platform bringing the capabilities of Platform LSF into a channel-friendly product for HPC workgroups, they are delivering a compelling combination for the market's needs."
"Intel is working with Platform to solve the cluster challenge of combining performance with ease of use," said Bill Magro, director HPC Software Solutions, Software and Services Group, Intel. "Platform's HPC Workgroup Manager simplifies and automates the creation of Intel Cluster Ready designs, removing another barrier for system vendors selling to new users of cluster computing in the departmental and workgroup space."
"With the core count in CPUs increasing along with the number of parallel applications that can take advantage of them, we recognized that there exists an increasing demand from customers for a more powerful, yet cost-effective, cluster management solution," said Tripp Purvis, vice president of business development at Platform Computing. "The result is Platform HPC Workgroup Manager which provides superior performance, reliability and value, while removing the complexity associated with traditional Linux-based clusters."
Platform HPC Workgroup Manager will be available through Platform's channel partners. More information can be found at http://www.platform.com/partners/partner-solutions/platform-hpc-workgroup-manager.
Platform will be exhibiting at the International Supercomputing Conference (ISC) '09, Europe's leading conference and exhibition for High Performance Computing, which runs June 23rd–25th. This year, ISC '09 is in Hamburg, Germany, at the CCH-Congress Center where Platform is exhibiting in Booth #440. Visit www.supercomp.de/isc09/.
