November 17, 2009
PORTLAND, Ore., Nov. 16 -- HPCwire, the leading source for global news and information covering the ecosystem of high performance computing, revealed the winners of the2009 HPCwire's annual Readers' and Editors' Choice Awards at the 22nd annual Supercomputing Conference (SC09) in Portland, Oregon. Tomas Tabor, publisher of HPCwire, revealed the list of winners at the HPCwire booth during the opening gala on Monday night.
HPCwire has designated two categories of Awards: (1) Readers' Choice, where winners have been determined by a poll of HPCwire readers, and (2) Editors' Choice, where winners have been determined by votes of a panel of recognized HPC luminaries, and contributing editors from industry. These awards are widely recognized as prestigious recognition from the HPC community.
"This award, which represents a partnership between the HPCwire global readership and our publishing team, is a salute from the global HPC community," said Tomas Tabor, publisher of HPCwire. "It's our great pleasure to take time each year to offer recognition to the leaders and luminaries in this industry. An organization being selected as an award recipient means that they are at the top of mind of HPCwire readers, editors, and luminaries in the field. The response to our survey an online polling has been strong as ever. I'd like to offer a well-earned congratulations to all the recipients of our 2009 awards."

There's nothing like a blazing hot summer to focus one's attention on the best ways to keep cool. That goes for datacenter operators as well, who are equally worried about keeping their servers properly chilled. While there is no shortage of innovative cooling solutions being proffered by various vendors, a new liquid immersion cooling solution from startup Green Revolution Cooling could end up being the best of them all.
