With increases in system parallelism, energy efficient data movement has become one of the key challenges in high performance computing. Today we’ll be talking with Sebastien Rumley, a post-doctoral research scientist at Columbia University, about the future of HPC-grade optical networks. He and his team have simulated the performance of these network types to understand the potential benefits and challenges. We will discuss some of those experiences today and talk about what the networks of the future may look like.
