Packing for SC08

The 20th annual Supercomputing (SC) conference launches next week in Austin, Texas. As usual, HPCwire will be providing live coverage, but this year we decided to include some pre-conference guidance for the event. With literally hundreds of activities to choose from, the task of selecting which sessions, panels, forums and meetings to attend is overwhelming. So we put together an Executive SC08 Guide that focuses on some of the most important trends, technologies, and business developments being presented at the show.

The Guide is not meant to be everything to everyone. What we've tried to do is spotlight some of the most compelling activities at this year's event, with HPC industry executives in mind. That includes C-level folks, center directors, marketing and sales directors, and VPs -- really anyone who considers themselves an exec or plays one on TV . As it turns out, the Guide also applies to those of you who are  looking for pointers to some of the conference highlights but are overwhelmed by the daunting event schedule.

We've broken down the Guide into 7 articles:

Making the Most of the Conference: How to use the Guide

Perspectives on HPC and the SC series of conferences: Commentaries from some notable HPC luminaries

Sunday and Monday: Strengthen your understanding of the fundamentals

Tuesday: The world's largest systems, and the changing face of HPC

Wednesday: From super supers to expanded access, this day has it all

Thursday: Data management, energy science, and green datacenters

Friday: Wrapping up the week with some great conversation

If you prefer, you can download the entire Guide (PDF) as a single document.

See you in Austin....
