San Jose, CA — Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc., a leader in the computer peripherals industry, announced the formation of a new Internet Sales and Distribution Division, a business unit dedicated to driving Internet-based sales and service for Fujitsu’s entire line of storage and imaging products. In addition, it enhanced its existing Internet presence with the introduction of a new on-line store, located on the company’s website at www.fcpa.com.

The Internet Services and Distribution Division will be headed by Doug May, formerly vice president sales and marketing, Fujitsu Computer Products of America. “The Internet is the single most important tool for continuing Fujitsu’s growth in the storage and imaging markets, and with this new division we are ideally positioned to take advantage of the opportunities it presents, ” said Doug May, vice president and general manager of the new Internet Sales and Distribution Division, Fujitsu Computer Products of America. “By harnessing the speed and efficiency of the Internet, and developing a division focused on taking advantage of these qualities, we will now be able to expand our product offering and provide a more comprehensive level of service for our customers.”
The new Internet Sales and Distribution Division complements Fujitsu Computer Products of America’s existing channel strategy by providing a new presence in electronic retail, an arena in which the company did not previously participate. Through its new on-line store, Fujitsu Computer Products of America will enable its existing customer base, and growing electronic audience, to purchase Fujitsu products and complete service processes. The new on-line store, located at www.fcpa.com, is a 24-hour purchasing source for Fujitsu’s industry-leading hard disk drive, magneto-optical and workgroup imaging products. In addition to purchasing capabilities, end users have access to detailed product, warranty and availability information. The store is designed to provide comprehensive information and support in an intuitive, easy to use format.
