Palo Alto, CA — Hewlett-Packard Monday announced the HP VISUALIZE P600C, P650C and P700C Personal Workstations, which are based on the latest Intel Pentium III processors. With expanded options, including the industry’s fastest graphics – HP VISUALIZE fx6+ – these new Windows NT-based workstations demonstrate HP’s ongoing delivery of distinguished technical-computing platforms that increase customer productivity.

By combining the latest technology, a full range of high-performance graphics, application tuning in collaboration with leading ISVs, enhanced UNIX system and Windows NT interoperability, and HP manageability tools, HP provides leading value-added technical-computing solutions.

Based on industry-standard application benchmarks, the new HP VISUALIZE P700C Personal Workstation with HP HP VISUALIZE X550 Personal Workstation with HP VISUALIZE fx6+, by 29 percent.

The new HP VISUALIZE Personal Workstations with Intel’s new Pentium III processors with advanced transfer cache are ideal systems for unleashing the talents of engineers, designers, scientists and artists who visually interact with large models in complex workflow environments. The systems’ advanced graphics performance provides mechanical-design automation and digital-content-creation customers with a wider range of options, including entry-level and midrange 3-D graphics. New Elsa Gloria Synergy II and 3Dlabs Oxygen GVX-1 graphics cards provide increased performance, color resolution, texturing and photo-realistic displays.

The HP VISUALIZE P600C, P650C and P700C Personal Workstations also include the following:

* Advanced compute power — single or dual 600MHz, 650MHz or 700MHz Intel Pentium III processors with advanced transfer cache, 128MB to 768MB main memory, the Intel 440BX AGP chipset and a 100MHz front side bus;

* Integration into UNIX system environments — NFS Client and X-Server; UNIX system command utilities and shell;

* Mass storage expandability — up to 36GB internal disk, choice of CD devices – CD, CD-RW or DVD; and

* Increased reliability and manageability — HP TopTools 4.5, HP MaxiLife, HP UltraFlow cooling system.
