Formerly known as Sun WorkShop tools, Forte Developer 6 products include the high-performance Forte C, C++ and Forte Fortran tools. Key enhancements in the Forte Developer 6 suite bring increased performance, scalability, programmer productivity and usability with Forte C, C++ and Forte Fortran 6.
Created for the Solaris Operating Environment, Forte Developer 6 products provide companies with the tools to build and deploy high- performance, mission-critical applications from the desktop to the data center. Forte Developer 6 products provide full support for 64-bit applications, ANSI/ISO C++ support, support for OpenMP and improved performance. Forte Developer 6 products include Forte C++ Enterprise Edition 6, Forte C++ Personal Edition 6, Forte for High Performance Computing 6, Forte Fortran Desktop Edition and Forte Teamware 6 tools. The Forte Performance Analyzer tool allows programmers to identify hot spots and fine tune applications, including multi-threaded applications. In addition, improved Fortran 95 compiler performance takes full advantage of the Solaris Operating Environment and SPARC architecture with a simple recompilation.
