NEWS BRIEFS

Provo, UTAH — Linux2order.com, a Web-based company offering software applications and utilities for the Linux operating system, officially launched offering the widest selection of downloadable Linux programs on the Internet. In addition, Linux2order.com guarantees that all applications are the most current versions available.

The company, based in Provo, Utah, also unveiled its Web site – http://www.linux2order.com – where users can peruse more than 5,000 Linux titles, read reviews and select the applications that best meet their needs. All titles can be downloaded for free, or they can be ordered on a custom CD-ROM.

“We’re offering an end to the frustration associated with waiting and searching for Linux software,” said Erik Vogel, president and CEO of Linux2order.com. “Linux users can now visit one central location to review the largest selection of current Linux programs on the Internet to find the applications that are right for their needs.

“We will surpass 7,000 titles by the end of the year, making us the most comprehensive source for online Linux applications,” Vogel said. “We understand the difficult nature of spending hours on and searching for a specific software title and then waiting for what seems like an eternity for the download. That frustration is over with today’s launch of Linux2order.com.”

Linux2order.com hosts the Linux programs on its own servers allowing the company to offer custom suites and dramatically faster downloads with its unique 1-click capability that gathers all of the requested files into a single, downloadable file.

Linux titles can be found in the following categories at Linux2order.com: Business and Finance; Internet Applications; Communications; Databases; Multimedia; Networking; Games; Spreadsheets and Utilities. The site offers a shopping cart feature, along with reviews of all applications and an estimated download time for each title.
