San Jose, CALIF. — The Fibre Channel Technology Conference (FCTC) 2000 announced that SanOne, a Storage Area Network (SAN) provider of leading-edge technologies, services and education and an Alanco Technologies Inc. Company will be the official host of the FCTC SAN HOT Demo Interoperability Lab at the FCTC Conference, October 10-12, at the Park Center Plaza (Crowne Plaza) in San Jose, California.
Running continuously during show floor hours at Booth 1, the SAN HOT Demo will showcase the latest SAN hardware and software implemented across heterogeneous environments, including NT, SUN, AIX, HP-UX and Linux. Server-less and LAN-free backup, virtual storage, data consolidation and SAN monitoring and management will all be profiled during this exclusive event.
In addition to the HOT Demo, FCTC will also offer “SAN Basics” Workshops conducted by SanOne. These free workshops will be held in concurrence with FCTC2000 at the Hilton Hotel adjacent to the Park Center Plaza and focus on understanding SAN terminology and the components of a SAN, introducing SAN topologies, and integrating SANs into IT environments.
“This is a chance for users to get a free introduction to SAN on their terms, and see it running in a realistic environment doing the kind of jobs they need done,” said conference chairman Dr. Lance Leventhal. “The emphasis will be on what SANs can do, how much it costs, and what return users can expect on their investment.”
“We are very proud to be hosting the SAN HOT Demo Interoperability Lab at the FCTC 2000,” said Jon Persavich, Ph.D., SanOne’s Executive Director of Information and Professional Services. “We have a unique opportunity to interact with end-users, address issues, and demonstrate a SAN’s value in a true multi-vendor, heterogeneous environment.”
The SAN HOT Demo is the only fully functional SAN demonstration and Interoperability Lab sponsored by FCTC2000. If you are interested in participating in this unique opportunity, contact Dr. Jon Persavich at [email protected] .
