Edmonton, CANADA — YottaYotta ( http://www.YottaYotta.com ), the Yottabyte NetStorage Company, has received notice that its core patent, which includes 38 claims, has been allowed as filed in the United States.
“YottaYotta’s patent will allow us to break the final bandwidth bottlenecks associated with networked storage and will enable YottaYotta’s NetStorage Cube to take storage infrastructure to a new level,” said Steve Mattioli.
The Provisional, Non-Provisional, and PCT-type Patent Applications filed in the U.S relate to methods and systems for implementing Data Network Storage over WAN, SAN, LAN, PAN, and BAN. In particular, the patents relate to methods and systems for implementing synchronization mechanisms, cache replication and coherency, and redundancy group support over the Storage Area Network (SAN) environment.
In conjunction with its core patent, YottaYotta continues to file associated patents on an average of two per month. “As a YottaYotta investor, I am pleased the company is developing a strong intellectual property portfolio. It is a strategy I believe will maximize shareholder value,” said Richard Prytula, President of TechnoCap ( http://www.technocap.com ), a Montreal based venture capital company that participated in both of YottaYotta’s A and B financing rounds.
YottaYotta has developed the NetStorage Cube, which uses patented, massive parallel architecture to provide scalability in performance and availability, as well as capacity. The NetStorage solution will be used for optical wide area networks (WAN), for telecommunications carriers and local area network (LAN), and for distributed storage for the enterprise (SAN). YottaYotta has executive offices in Kirkland, Washington and research and development facilities in Edmonton, Alberta.
