NEWS BRIEFS
San Jose, CALIF. — Chaparral Network Storage, Inc., a leading provider of intelligent storage networking solutions, announced its product, the FS1310, was featured in SanOne’s SAN HOT Demo Interoperability Lab at the FCTC Conference, October 10-12 at the Park Center Plaza (Crowne Plaza) in San Jose, California.
SanOne’s SAN FCTC Interoperability Lab provides hands-on experience with the latest new SAN offerings that feature consolidated storage, serverless backup and technologies across multiple platforms from multiple vendors.
“It is an honor to be chosen by SanOne for their SAN HOT Demo at FCTC,” said Michael Hardy, vice president of marketing, Chaparral Network Storage. “This demo gives users the opportunity to see the most important SAN products on the market, operating in a realistic environment and performing the jobs they need to get done.”
Chaparral’s FS1310 Intelligent Storage Router enables easy attachment of SCSI devices to Fibre Channel networks or SANs. The FS1310 router provides the performance, reliability and fault tolerance required for today’s data-centric applications. Features include a sustained data transfer rate in excess of 90 MB per second, more than 6,500 IOPS, a single Fibre Channel port and three LVDS device channels. The Chaparral FS1310 includes an optional Extended Copy feature, which supports high-speed serverless backup in the SAN. With this added feature, the FS1310 router has the ability to provide faster backup operations, saving data directly from disk to tape without continuous involvement from the server.
“We chose Chaparral’s FS1310 Intelligent Storage Router because of its proven reliability and performance,” said Mike Flannery, general manager of SanOne, an Alanco Technologies Inc. (Nasdaq: ALAN) company. “The Chaparral FS1310 router is well suited for mission-critical backup and restore applications and serverless backup in enterprise-level SANs.”
“The HOT Demo is a ‘not to miss’ event for anyone challenged with the task of managing storage and considering SAN equipment, said FCTC conference chairman Dr. Lance Leventhal. “They can see what SANs can do, find out how much it costs, and what return they can expect on their investment.”
SanOne has taken a proactive stance to meet the exploding data system demands using SAN and Fabric topologies. SanOne combines its professional services expertise with best-of-breed storage products to deliver highly advanced SAN implementations.
