Toronto, CANADA — StorageTek (Storage Technology Corp.) announced that it is now a mySAP.com Global Technology Partner and plans to develop storage solutions that connect with mySAP.com e-business solutions, as well as StorageTek’s unique virtual storage, open SAN (Storage Area Network) and tape and tape automation solutions. By integrating mySAP.com e-business solutions with both StorageTek’s enterprise-wide SAN technologies and its high-capacity storage archives, this agreement lays the groundwork for innovative e-business and storage solutions to come.

The virtual storage solutions increase data availability, recover applications faster and simplify the management of consolidated storage environments. Furthermore, the dynamic configurations of storage facilities made possible by StorageTek’s unique and open SAN solutions draws the way for a flexible, reliable and highly scalable e-business solutions. SAP clients also benefit in the field in testing, data warehouse and backup needs.

The benefits of this alliance are experienced by the German hospital Zentralkrankenhaus Sankt-Juergen-Strasse in Bremen, where mySAP.com solutions are running on an open SAN infrastructure provided by StorageTek. “The outstanding combination of the two solutions leads to a powerful and flexible overall system,” said Heiner Elsken, IT-director, Zentralkrankenhaus Sankt-Juergen-Strasse. “We see a drastic performance increase. The easy management and the flexibility of this combination allows us to expand and facilitate our service offered to our customers.”
To make the collaboration as intensive as possible, StorageTek has opened a Center of Expertise at the SAP Partner Port in Walldorf, Germany.
