Needham, MA — The Object Management Group(TM) (OMG(TM)), the international software consortium responsible for establishing distributed computing specifications for components and security, will hold its fifth “Distributed Object and Component Security (DOCsec) Workshop” from March 26 to 29, 2001 at the Loews Annapolis Hotel, Annapolis, MD, USA. This highly interactive workshop is exclusively sponsored by Hitachi Software ( http://www.hitachisoftware.com ) and will include tutorials and in-depth technology sessions, plus two roundtable discussions.

Roundtables
— The “Users’ Roundtable” will focus on the implementation of distributed object security projects and will explore the difficulties that users have faced, and relate practical experience for people tackling DOC security projects.
— The “Vendors’ Roundtable” will be made up of panelists representing major DOC security products. Participants will speak about the specification/implementation issues they have faced and discuss their future product plans with relation to this technology.
Richard Soley, chairman and CEO of the Object Management Group and Jishnu Mukerji, senior systems architect of Hewlett Packard Corporation, will moderate the above roundtables. Also, representatives from XTRADyne, Object Security, Network Associates and Sun Microsystems will participate in the roundtable discussions.
