InforSense Ltd announced that the Science and Technology Commission of the Shanghai Municipality (STCSM) has licensed the InforSense Knowledge Discovery Environment (InforSense KDE) to build the Shanghai Public Infrastructure for Research and Development Service. The goal of this ambitious project is to provide a city-wide infrastructure for sharing and exploiting scientific information contributed by industry and research organizations across the Shanghai Municipality. The result will be an advanced Knowledge Grid for Shanghai, accessible by thousands of users and encompassing a variety of scientific domains from food, agricultural, chemistry and pharmaceutical research to manufacturing.
The announcement was made during the launch of the UK-China Partners in Science campaign in Shanghai yesterday. At the launch ceremony, Lord David Sainsbury of Turville, UK Minister for Science and Innovation described this achievement by InforSense as an outstanding example of a successful UK-China collaboration.
