In the space once reserved for President Ronald Reagan’s old Star Wars program, sits the world’s third most-powerful supercomputer. Known as Intrepid, the machine resembles five rows of black refrigerators. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration will rely on Intrepid to increase its chances of knowing when and where storms will hit – hurricanes in particular.
