Although the cost benefits of moving from traditional IT structures to the cloud are often clear, there are issues that are often overlooked when organizations make the switch the cloud model. While keeping some data off-site is usually not an issue, especially for large enterprises or agencies with a great deal of data to store, when organizations shift farther into the cloud they often lack the policy structure to keep pace with the change. This means that it becomes critical for agencies to make sure the evaluate their current IT governance strategies and look outside of their standard practices to create solutions and policies more tailored to the new technology.
