In the midst of infighting about many issues related to cloud viability and models (among a host of other issues) many startups are ignoring the hype and diving into the cloud to gain a competitive advantage at far less of a cost than competitors who are still wrangling with cloud have. This makes them instantly competitve so that they can invest saved capital in greater innovation. The question is why more organizations are seeing this trend yet are still standing on the brink, not hurrying to keep pace with change. Startups who invest in cloud architecture immediately have agility–they have no legacy issues and are gaining their foothold immediately with minimal start-up investment, which also means they are freed from the “strings” of venture capital.
