Although there is a great deal of talk about branching into the realm of clouds by starting one’s own private cloud, the truth might be that it’s not as simple as making a few infrastructural changes. According to Forrester Research, only 5% of companies have what is required to implement their own private cloud, which flies directly in the face in what many vendors are offering as an “off the shelf” cloud solution for instant migration. The issues of standardization, automation and shared resources are much larger than some enterprises think and it is possible that some companies might not have thorough enough understanding of what their are approaching, which can lead to problems.
