According to research group IDC, European public cloud providers are in for a golden age with 70 percent of such businesses claiming expected growth from local markets and only 30 percent looking beyond Europe. IDC remarks on some of the critical differences between European cloud providers and those elsewhere, particulary across the pond, by noting that Europe has a higher reliance on open source in the enterprise and infrastructures are more traditional. In Europe overall, it seems that local relationships are more important, thus the global “big guy” approach to cloud is not as widely adopted.
