T-Platforms took the top two spots in the latest edition of the Top 50 List of Russian Supercomputers. Both are located at Lomonosov Moscow State University and had Linpack scores of 1,849 teraflops and 901.9 teraflops respectively. The 23rd Russian Top 50 was announced at the Russian Supercomputing Days Conference, being held in Moscow today and tomorrow. The list renews twice a year — in March/April and September.
Hewlett-Packard (NYSE: HPQ) and IBM (NYSE: IBM) dominated in terms of number of machines on the list. HP had two machines in the top ten (189.29 and 160.90 teraflops) and 14 systems overall. IBM accounted for 13 of the systems, with its top performer landing in 23rd. T-Platforms and Group RSC placed eight systems each. A Supermicro system was fifth (374.13 teraflops).
The conference was expanded this year to include several traditional Russian and international supercomputing events, including the Scientific Services & Internet international supercomputing conference, the High Performance Parallel Computing on Cluster Systems international conference, and the Russian Supercomputing Conference. The conference is being conducted in Russian and English, with simultaneous interpretation of the reports at the plenary section.
The top performers are show below. Here is a link to the full list (in Russian, of course) — http://top50.supercomputers.ru/?page=rating — and a link to the conference home site: http://russianscdays.org/en.
