Molly Rector
Molly Rector has joined Quantum as vice president of marketing. She recently served as DataDirect Networks’ CMO and executive vice president of global marketing and product management. Prior to DDN, Rector spent close to 10 years at Spectra Logic as the company’s CMO and executive vice president of worldwide marketing and product management. She has over 15 years of enterprise storage experience.
“Having both competed against and partnered with Quantum over the years, I know what a strong technology and product portfolio the company has and how uniquely suited it is to meeting some of the most difficult storage challenges organizations are facing,” said Rector. “I look forward to bringing this message and the benefits of Quantum’s solutions to a broader range of customers and working with the rest of the leadership team to achieve the company’s growth objectives.”
Ed Seidel
Ed Seidel has been named interim vice president for research for the University of Illinois system. Siedel, currently the director of the NCSA, took over for Lawrence Schook who announced that he would be stepping down after serving for the past five years. Siedel will serve until a permanent vice president is selected.
“I am honored to be asked by President Killeen to work with the entire University of Illinois system to further enhance its research and economic development portfolio, and to return even more value to the state during the search for a permanent vice president,” Seidel said.
Robert Triendl
DataDirect Networks has promoted Robert Triendl to senior vice president of global sales, marketing and field services. Previous positions at the company include general manager for DDN Japan’s operation and senior vice president of HPC strategy. Triendl has been with DDN since 2008.
“DDN has a long history of technological innovation, a great team and a phenomenal market opportunity,” said Triendl. “I am excited to help realize what I believe is tremendous potential to extend our unmatched delivery of performance and capacity at scale – far beyond what most can even imagine.”
Alinka Flaminia
Alinka Flaminia has been named senior vice president and general counsel for Mellanox Technologies. She joins Mellanox from PMC-Sierra where she served as vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary. She has over 25 years of legal experience with technology companies.
“I am thrilled to be joining Mellanox, a growth company that is leading the networking industry by changing the landscape of data center technology worldwide,” said Flaminia. “Global high tech companies are subject to a complex and ever changing set of laws and regulations. I look forward to my roles as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary and working with Mr. Rosenberg as we strive to take Mellanox and the networking industry to the next level.”
Salvatore Campione
Salvatore Campione, a nanophotonics researcher at Sandia National Laboratories, has been recognized by the IEEE honor society Eta Kappa Nu with the Outstanding Young Professional award. He received the award for his contributions to the electromagnetic modeling of complex systems and structures from microwave to optical frequencies. Campione started working with the Lab as an intern back in 2012.
