Advanced HPC Announces Its Exclusive Platinum Partnership with BeeGFS

SAN DIEGO, Calif., Aug. 3, 2018 – Advanced HPC, a leading HPC specialist and solutions provider, announced today that it has become the first and only U.S. Platinum Partner of BeeGFS, the globally-renowned parallel cluster file system.

The BeeGFS system manages demanding workloads and provides superior performance in critical environments. It is known for its scalability, high level of flexibility and ease of access to a wide variety of storage systems, from small clusters to the largest enterprise-class computer systems. BeeGFS helps customers increase productivity by delivering faster results and enabling new data analysis methods that were not previously possible.

ThinkParQ, the Germany company behind BeeGFS, designed the parallel cluster file system based

on the POSIX files systems interface, which means applications do not have to be rewritten or modified to take advantage of BeeGFS. Advanced HPC, has the most experience of any U.S. company in implementing BeeGFS, which led to the Platinum BeeGFS partner status.

BeeGFS is based on a lightweight architecture and can be created on a per job basis with the BeeOND (BeeGFS On Demand) application, which aggregates the performance capacity of internal SSDs or hard disks in compute nodes. With performance-centric highly available data increasing in demand, a flexible architecture like BeeGFS eliminates data silos and storage complexity with a solution built specifically for multi-tenancy and cloud.

Christopher M. Sullivan is the Assistant Director for Biocomputing at Oregon State University and directs the Center for Genome Research and Biocomputing (CGRB).
