ST. PAUL, Minn., Nov. 11, 2021 — CPC (Colder Products Company), manufacturer of quick disconnects (QDs) designed specifically for liquid cooling of electronics, has expanded its Everis Series of quick disconnects to cover a wide range of liquid cooling needs in high-performance computing, with new options on display at SC21. CPC supplies major supercomputer manufacturers and integrators with highly reliable, non-spill quick release couplings to protect valuable electronics.
“As computing density increases, so does the need for liquid cooling, and connectors are critical points in liquid cooling systems,” says Blake Harris, product manager, CPC thermal management. “Operators must be able to easily connect and disconnect tubing within their liquid cooling systems without drip concerns while also relying on excellent long-term performance in a connected state.”
CPC engineers work closely with customers as they design their liquid cooling systems. These early, in-depth collaborations have advanced liquid cooling technologies for the entire industry. (See this case study with a leading supercomputer maker.)
“Because we focus exclusively on connectors, CPC addresses key liquid cooling challenges, such as the ability to easily connect and disconnect tubing in tight spaces like server racks or the compact bladed architecture of supercomputing hardware, or to disconnect under pressure without drips,” says Harris.
To meet the industry’s growing needs, CPC offers blind mate models, connectors with elbows and swivel joints, several termination and mounting choices, and sizes to optimize flow rates. SC21 attendees can see the full range of Everis products at booth 2610 including the debut of the Everis BLQ6 Blind Mate Series and Everis LQ8 Series connectors. Both offer high-flow capacity, with 3/8″ and 1/2″ flow paths, respectively. Blind mate QD connection tolerances allow operators to make successful connections even if their view is obstructed. For applications requiring compact connectors, options include the 1/8″ flow Everis LQ2 Series and Everis BLQ4 Blind Mate Series, which is available with SAE and G-thread terminations widely used in Asia and Europe.
CPC’s non-spill quick disconnects are known for being robust and reliable. Multi-lobed seals provide redundant protection against leakage and lasting shape retention during extended periods of connection. These seals also deliver greater sealing efficiency than standard O-rings while requiring less force to connect. The Everis Series patented design features valves that close quickly and securely when the coupling is disconnected.
At SC21, CPC is pleased to sponsor the “Leadership in Liquid Cooling” breakfast on Tues., Nov. 16, 7:30-10:30 a.m. at the Embassy Suites by Hilton St. Louis Downtown, across from the America’s Center. The panel discussion begins at 8:45 a.m. More information and registration here.
