Nov. 27, 2019 — Past president of the Cray User Group and current CUG board member David Hancock extended an invitation for HPE HPC & AI customers to participate in the upcoming CUG 2020 event in Auckland, New Zealand, during an invited presentation at HP-CAST on Nov. 15, 2019.
The CUG 2020 event, “Sailing into the Future of HPC,” is hosted in Auckland, New Zealand by the National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research (NIWA), May 3-7, 2020. The conference location is well known as the City of Sails. Its beautiful and expansive harbor is the focal point of sailing in New Zealand, and like high performance computing, yachting has made significant technological advances in recent years.
“CUG is an important user-driven event, and in collaboration with Cray and HPE, we’re excited to extend the invitation to a larger community of users,” says CUG president Colin McMurtrie. “The CUG Board continues to work on future events and is already planning an event for 2021.”
With new roadmaps announced at SC19, and major Cray and HPE Apollo systems being deployed over the next two years, it’s a great time to join or sponsor CUG. CUG 2020 will provide an exciting platform to explore the opportunities and application of HPC in years to come.
“Cray has always had a close partnership with our customers and users, and CUG has been an important part of that collaboration,” said Peter Ungaro, senior vice president and general manager, HPC and AI, at HPE. “As Cray comes together with HPE, I am excited for the future of the Cray User Group as we enter the Exascale Era and look forward to HPE users joining us at CUG 2020.”
The call for papers for CUG 2020 opened on November 25, 2019. See the CUG website for more details on CUG 2020 or how to join as a member.
