Oct. 8 — The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), Office of Science, Advanced Scientific Computing Research (ASCR) division administers an annual call for proposals for the ASCR Leadership Computing Challenge (ALCC). The ALCC program allocates ~20% of the time on DOE’s supercomputers with an emphasis on projects that are critical to the Department’s mission and that broaden the community of researchers capable of using ASCR’s supercomputers. For 2020-21 ALCC, the computing resources include Summit at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Theta at Argonne National Laboratory, and the Cori/KNL partition at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.
This year there is a new requirement for all proposals to submit a Letter of Intent (LOI). The Letter of Intent will be due on December 16, 2019, and the full proposals due by 11:59 pm (Eastern time) on February 3, 2020.
