Dot Hill to Sponsor Rocky Mountain HPC Symposium

LONGMONT, Colo., Aug. 11 — Dot Hill Systems Corp., a trusted supplier of innovative enterprise-class storage systems, is sponsoring the fourth annual Rocky Mountain High Performance Computing Symposium, taking place at the University of Colorado in Boulder Aug. 12-13.

Bill Carter, president and CEO of R. Associates Inc. (RAI), a Dot Hill partner focused on delivering high performance computing (HPC) solutions, will speak at the symposium on “Lustre Architecture for Scale-Out Storage.” Open to the public, the event will be held at the Wolf Law Building on the main campus.

The Rocky Mountain High Performance Computing Symposium brings together designers and users of HPC systems from universities, government laboratories, and commercial industry throughout the Rocky Mountain Region. Topics include research, education, and best practices, with two days of tutorials covering many aspects of HPC system design and use. The symposium offers nationally recognized speakers, affinity group breakout sessions, Ignite Talks, and a student research poster competition for member institutions. Student poster winners will be awarded a trip to the SC14 supercomputing trade show.

Combining Dot Hill AssuredSAN 4004 storage systems with Intel Enterprise Edition for Lustre software and Mellanox InfiniBand switches and adapters, the platform addresses the demands of seismic analysis by providing a scale-out, high performance, single namespace file serving solution, scalable to multiple petabytes of data storage.

Dot Hill AssuredSAN 4004 Storage Designed to Excel in HPC Environments

All Dot Hill AssuredSAN 4004 solutions, including the company’s Ultra48 ultra-density storage system, leverage the company’s ninth-generation RAID stack, which delivers up to 100,000 input/output operations per second (IOPS) from disk, sustained sequential read performance of up to 6400 MB/second and writes of up to 5300 MB/second.
