EOFS Chairman Frank Baetke announced today that he is leaving HPE, where he served as global HPC technology manager for many years. He will keep his post as chair of the European Open File System (EOFS) organization, a position he was elected to in 2015. Baetke was a long-time liaison for HP-CAST, HPE’s user group meeting for high performance computing.
In a letter to the EOFS community, Baetke writes:
I’m no longer with HPE officially, but will definitely remain active on the HPC landscape. I will also remain active as EOFS Chairman representing HPE as a delegate as membership is by corporation or institution.
In that role I will be planning again for Birds of a Feather Sessions (BoFs) at the upcoming ISC’18 in June – the success we had at SC17 with two very well-attended BoFs is really encouraging. Let me also remind you on the upcoming LUSTRE User Group Conference LUG 2018 organized by OpenSFS. The conference will be held April 23-26, 2018 at Argonne National Laboratory in Argonne, Illinois, see: http://opensfs.org/events/lug-2018 Registration is open.
I’m sure I’ll meet most of you at the upcoming ISC’18 event in Frankfurt in June, 24-28, see http://isc-hpc.com/
HP-CAST 30 will take place prior to ISC 2018 at the Marriott Frankfurt as planned. We are told that HPE’s Liz King and Ben Bennett are now at the helm.
