GIGABYTE Launches AORUS Gen4 AIC SSD 8TB Storage Solution

TAIPEI, Taiwan, Oct. 30, 2019 – GIGABYTE TECHNOLOGY Co. Ltd, a leading manufacturer of motherboards and graphics cards, today launched the AORUS Gen4 AIC SSD 8TB with ultra-fast 15,000MB/s sequential read/write speeds. Generating much buzz when first revealed at COMPUTEX 2019, fans have been highly anticipating the release of this new AIC. Built with four 2TB Gen4 NVMe M.2 SSDs, AORUS Gen4 AIC SSD 8TB offers ultra-high transfer bandwidth and ultra-fast storage performance. It features a single-slot design for flexible expansion and incorporates pure copper finned heatsinks, dual sided cooling pads, and M.2 baseplate for passive cooling. GIGABYTE exclusive AORUS Storage Manager allows users to configure a RAID array with a single click and monitor both SSD temperatures and fan speeds to keep their SSDs cool and performing at a high level. GIGABYTE is also introducing the AORUS Gen4 AIC Adaptor without built-in SSDs, which is compatible with PCIe 4.0 and 3.0 M.2 SSDs so users can upgrade their SSD devices or continue using their preferred NVMe M.2 SSDs. With this flexibility, AORUS Gen4 AIC card offers the best balance between performance and budget.

AORUS Gen4 AIC SSD 8TB features high-quality, hairline brushed armor and double ball bearing fans for active heat dissipation while the stylish, hairline brushed baseplate adds style points. Its single-slot design and a thinner, more compact frame prevents crowding around the PCIe slot, allowing for more flexible expansion. Aside from design, AORUS Gen4 AIC SSD 8TB’s thermal solution consists of pure copper heatsinks, a dual sided thermal pad, and an M.2 cooling baseplate, all of which contribute to keeping SSD temperatures running low and cool. Add to that the double ball bearing fans, 5 cm in length, and this AIC is geared to reactively prevent thermal throttling.

Furthermore, AORUS Gen4 AIC SSD 8TB comes with eight thermal sensors which are used with the GIGABYTE exclusive AORUS Storage Manager, enabling users to monitor the temperatures of all four sets of M.2 SSDs. AORUS Storage Manager comes with three fan operating modes for silent and effective cooling. The independent PCIe Gen4 controller chip design ensures that each SSD operates with Gen4 bandwidth, providing the fastest and most stable performance. The AORUS Gen4 AIC Adaptor doesn’t include M.2 SSDs but utilizes the same design, hardware control, and thermal design as the AORUS Gen4 AIC SSD 8TB. Users have plenty of flexibility for storage device setups as they can install their own NVMe M.2 SSDs with the AORUS Gen4 AIC Adaptor and can configure a RAID 0 Array with a single click for impressive storage performance!

AORUS Gen4 AIC SSD 8TB supports the PCIe 4.0 interface and is backward compatible with PCIe 3.0 so regardless of which interface used, users are getting the most out of their storage devices. When the AORUS Gen4 AIC SSD 8TB is paired with the GIGABYTE X570 motherboards which feature low impedance, server-grade board designs with a PCIe 4.0 overclocking chip, PCIe bandwidth is further increased, elevating the performance of PCIe storage devices as well as unlocking hidden performance from peripherals.
