Hampleton Partners Advises High-Performance Computing Company CPU 24/7 In Sale To IAV

February 13, 2018

LONDON, POTSDAM, and BERLIN, Feb. 13, 2018 — Hampleton Partners, the international mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance advisory firm for technology companies, has advised CPU 24/7 GmbH, a cutting-edge provider of HPC managed services, on its acquisition by IAV GmbH, a leading engineering services firm for the automotive industry.

This acquisition equips IAV with unparalleled experience in CAE and HPC applications. CPU 24/7’s singular knowledge in the configuration, provision and maintenance of supercomputing systems will give IAV the ability to offer its automotive clients hosted HPC services, outsourcing resource-intensive CAE tasks that would otherwise be uneconomic or impossible.

“We are very happy we found such a good home for our company”, says Dr. Matthias Reyer, Co-Founder at CPU 24/7. “By combining CPU 24/7’s strength in CAE and HPC applications with IAV’s leading automotive engineering services, the company is perfectly positioned to continue providing their clients with the best services available on the market today.”

Hampleton Director Axel Brill, transaction lead and IT services and enterprise software expert, comments: “It has been a distinct pleasure to advise the founders of CPU 24/7 on this exciting new chapter in the life of their company with IAV. Their unique knowledge of, but also passion and vision for the industry, are plain to see in the successful company they have built. By providing such highly-configured HPC solutions, CPU 24/7 has not only been able to deliver market-leading solutions to the industry giants, but has also democratised access to mission-critical CAE applications for SMEs as well.”

The engagement was led by Axel Brill with Frank Berger and Nicholas Milligan rounding out the transaction team for Hampleton.

HPC Serves as a ‘Rosetta Stone’ for the Information Age

July 12, 2018

In an age defined and transformed by its data, several large-scale scientific instruments around the globe might be viewed as a ‘mother lode’ of precious data. With names seemingly created for a ‘techno-speak’ glossary, these interferometers, cyclotrons, sequencers, solenoids, satellite altimeters, and cryo-electron microscopes are churning out data in previously unthinkable and seemingly incomprehensible quantities -- billions, trillions and quadrillions of bits and bytes of electro-magnetic code.
