ISC 2020 Turns to Digital Event From June 22 to 24 Due to Pandemic

April 8, 2020

FRANKFURT, Germany, April 8, 2020 — In a letter posted below to all participants of ISC 2020, ISC General Co-Chairs Martin and Thomas Meuer announced the cancellation of ISC 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Instead, officials are turning the event into a free, virtual conference on June 22-24. Program details will be revealed in the coming weeks, but officials note that the conference will be a leaner version that the one originally planned.

In less than four months the COVID-19 pandemic has created unprecedented global health and economic crises. It has quickly altered our lives. We are now more concerned about our families; we cannot conduct business as usual and even our daily movement is restricted. If there is one thing that we can control right now, it is ensuring the safety and well being of our attendees, exhibitors, our partners, and employees.

Therefore, it is with a heavy heart we announce our decision to cancel ISC 2020 in Frankfurt, Germany. In its place we will offer a leaner version of the conference in digital form from June 22 to 24. It will be free so everyone in the HPC community can benefit from it. We will be revealing the program details in the coming weeks.

Our commitment toward this community does not stop here. Supporting each other is important in any crisis, and in this spirit, we will be approaching our individual stakeholders to discuss how we can move forward together. As for now we ask you to be patient with us. We will come back to you once we finalize all the details regarding the termination of the onsite event.

In any case, we still plan to publish all accepted Research Papers and post-conference Workshop Proceedings with Springer’s Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS).

ISC 2021 will take place from June 27 – July 1, 2021 and we look forward to reuniting with all of you then!

Please keep yourself and your loved ones safe and healthy.

Best regards,

Martin and Thomas Meuer

ISC General Co-Chairs
