Liqid and Echostreams Partner With Mellanox

November 15, 2016

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Nov. 15 — Liqid Inc., the industry leader in NVMe flash performance and PCI Express (PCIe) based disaggregated infrastructure (DI) solutions, and Echostreams today announce partnership with Mellanox to deliver high performance data transfer nodes of 200Gbps throughput in a compact 1U form factor.

The EchoStreams FlacheSAN1N Flash Array, built with Liqid NVMe technology and Mellanox InfiniBand adapters, provides the industry’s highest performance 1U NVMe all-flash node, achieving up to 24GB per second and 3.5 million IOPS with latencies around 200µs. A single 1RU node holds up to 32TB of data.

The all-flash solution seamlessly scales from 1U building blocks to multi-rack deployments for the most compute and I/O intensive HPC and data center environments. Media and Entertainment, Financial, and Scientific applications can deliver and process more data effectively and scale easily.

“EchoStreams has seen the struggle faced by customers to find dense, cost-optimized solutions capable of meeting the performance requirements of modern application demands,” said Gene Lee, President of EchoStreams. “Our partnership with Liqid and Mellanox allows us to deliver a fully-optimized NVMe over Fabric flash array with superior performance, density and overall TCO to our customers.”

“Maximizing the performance boost that NVMe over Fabric enables requires the highest performance networking solutions – that includes the fastest bandwidth and the most efficient offload engines,” said Sr. Director Enterprise Market Development Motti Beck at Mellanox. “We have been happy to support these pioneering activities and congratulate EchoStreams for being among the first of our partners to deliver this high performance storage solution, taking the data center to a new level of efficiency.”

“We are reaching a tipping point where the masses of data at rest can be leveraged more efficiently by more users and applications with the right infrastructure,” said Marius Tudor, VP Sales and Business Development at Liqid. “Liqid’s innovations in NVMe, a core component of the Liqid Disaggregated Infrastructure (DI) Platform, enable this transition. We are committed to working with industry leaders like Mellanox and EchoStreams to deliver best-in-class performance and value to enterprise and hyperscale customers.”

Liqid and EchoStreams are demonstrating the FlacheSAN1N NVMe over Fabric (NVMeoF) Flash Array at Super Computing 2016 (SC16) in Salt Lake City, Utah Nov. 14-17, 2016 at Booth #2537.
