Dec. 30, 2019 — Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory is offering data science graduate students and advanced undergraduate students internship opportunities at the Data Science Summer Institute (DSSI).
The summer internship program runs for 12 weeks. As a member of DSSI, interns will be able to apply the skills acquired in machine learning, statistics, and high performance computing to projects in areas of national importance.
The Laboratory’s science and engineering are being applied to achieve breakthroughs for counterterrorism and nonproliferation, defense and intelligence, energy and environmental security. The summer program anticipates bringing in a limited number of undergraduate and graduate science and engineering students with backgrounds in machine learning, applied mathematics, computer science, or statistics to work with some of the best minds in data science to tackle some of the world’s largest problems.
There are two summer sessions. Session one starts May 18 through August 7. Session two starts June 15 through September 4. To apply for Summer 2020, visit: https://careers-llnl.ttcportals.com/jobs/4545995-data-science-summer-institute-student-intern
