Monica Kumar Joins Nutanix as Senior Vice President of Product and Solutions Marketing

SAN JOSE, Calif., Feb. 14, 2019 — Nutanix, a leader in enterprise cloud computing, today announced that it has appointed Monica Kumar as Senior Vice President of Marketing, where she will lead product and solutions marketing globally for Nutanix.

Kumar’s experience includes more than 22 years at Oracle. Most recently, she was vice president of Oracle Cloud Platform marketing, where she led global product marketing for their flagship data management portfolio including the world’s first Autonomous Database. During her tenure at Oracle, Kumar launched several industry-leading products in the Platform-as-a-Service and Infrastructure-as-a-Service markets and built businesses from idea to hyper-growth. She also held other roles at the company including within database product marketing and Linux, MySQL, virtualization and open source product marketing. Prior to Oracle, Kumar spent time in product marketing at Informix.

At Nutanix, Kumar will be responsible for product and solutions marketing where she will drive the global Go-to-Market (GTM) engine, which includes strategy, messaging, thought leadership and category creation efforts for the company to take it into the next chapter of growth. She will play a critical role in driving the marketing strategy of the company as well as continuing to generate brand and category awareness, and evolving the positioning across the suite of Nutanix products.

Kumar currently serves on the board of directors for Watermark, an organization whose mission is to increase the number of women in leadership positions. She was given the award of “2017 Powerful Women of the Bay” by CDA Consulting Group and “2017 Women of Influence” by The Silicon Valley Business Journal in recognition for being passionate about educating, empowering, and connecting with women in business and the community.
