OAK RIDGE, Tenn., Dec. 22 — Jeffrey S. Vetter, a researcher at the Department of Energy’s Oak Ridge National Laboratory, has been recognized by two professional societies for his achievements in computational science.
Vetter, a researcher in the ORNL Computer Science & Mathematics Division’s Future Technologies group, was cited by the IEEE Board of Directors “for contributions to high performance computing.”
The IEEE (Institute of Electrical & Electronics Engineers) selects fewer than 0.1 percent of its voting members for elevation to fellow. Vetter’s IEEE fellowship is effective January 1.
ORNL is managed by UT-Battelle for the Department of Energy’s Office of Science, the single largest supporter of basic research in the physical sciences in the United States. DOE’s Office of Science is working to address some of the most pressing challenges of our time. For more information, please visit science.energy.gov.
